How to set up two WhatsApp accounts on your smartphone
It is good to separate work life from personal life, even when you are relating with customers on various social media. One for your personal and the other for your business.
Officially, it is impossible to run two WhatsApp accounts on a smartphone, but smartphone manufacturers have provided the opportunity to do that.
If you owned smartphones like Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo, Huawei, Samsung, OnePlus, and Realme, you can set up a secondary WhatsApp account right on your primary device using the Dual Apps feature.
The Dual Apps feature allows you to run two WhatsApp accounts on the same phone. The feature is pretty straightforward.
How to Set up Dual WhatsApp on Your Smartphone
- Open Settings from the home screen.
- Scroll down and tap on Apps.
- Navigate to Dual apps and create
- Toggle the app you want to clone like WhatsApp
- Toggle Dual Apps and wait for the device to set up a WhatsApp dual app
That’s it! Once you clone an app, you’ll see two icons for that specific app on your home screen, with the cloned version featuring an indent that indicates that it is the secondary app.
Each instance has its own data and settings, but uninstalling the original app will result in the cloned app being deleted as well.
These steps are for a Xiaomi device. The name of the feature and the steps could vary depending on the smartphone manufacturer. In Oppo devices, the feature is called App Clone. Similarly, it’s Dual Messenger in Samsung devices; Twin Apps in Asus devices, App Twin in Honor devices, and App Cloner in Realme devices.
