The 2022 Wimbledon Championships is a planned Grand Slam tennis tournament that is scheduled to take place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom.

Novak Djokovic and Ashleigh Barty are the reigning champions in the singles tournaments, but Barty will not defend her title, as she retired from professional tennis in March 2022.

Wimbledon 2022 Tournament

The tournament will be played on grass courts, with all main draw matches scheduled to be played at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon from 27 June to 10 July 2022.

Initial wild card entries were first announced on 14 June 2022. Qualifying matches are scheduled from 20 June to 23 June 2022 at the Bank of England Sports Ground in Roehampton.

When does Wimbledon start?

Wimbledon will take place from Monday 27th June 2022 and run until Sunday 10th July 2022. The Wimbledon Championships 2022 will be the 135th time the competition has been held.

How to get Wimbledon tickets 2022

Tennis fans will once again be able to queue for tickets for same day events, after the queue was closed last year due to Covid restrictions. Ticket resale will also return in 2022.

All public tickets will be available to buy this year, and tickets are limited to one pair per household.

Tickets will be distributed on the official Wimbledon app.

Wimbledon has introduced tiered pricing on Centre Court and No.1 Court this year, with seats at the front of the court costing more than those at the back.

Wimbledon ticket prices also vary based on the date and court:

  • Centre Court (Price band A): £75–£240
  • Centre Court (Price band B): £70–£230
  • No.1 Court (Price band A): £68–£160
  • No.1 Court (Price band B): £65–£155
  • No.2 Court: £43–£90
  • No.3 Court: £46-£90
  • Grounds passes: £8-£27

Wimbledon ticket ballot

There was no Wimbledon ticket ballot for 2022–instead, people who were successful in the 2020 ballot and accepted the ticket offer have been offered the same day and court for this year’s event.

How to watch/live stream Wimbledon 2022 in the UK

All of Wimbledon 2022 will be available to watch on Freeview TV on BBC. As well on being on BBC One and BBC Two, matches will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button, as well as the BBC Sport website and mobile app.

Wimbledon 2022 — how to watch from the US

In the US, Wimbledon will be available to stream on ESPN Plus and will be broadcast by ESPN, which is available through most traditional cable packages (double check your plan to confirm) and live TV streaming services including FuboTV, TSN, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV.
